Life is not a serious as we make it... I bet after reading this you will agree with me.
JBoy (Japhet), my friend from junior secondary really knew how to light a place up with his never ending enthusiasm. At times you would actually think he was crazy because of he's reaction to things.
I remember once when our intro-tech test results came out in J.S.S 2, I scored a 5 out of 30
and he scored a 7 (I can't really remember the exact figures but we flunked ). He had the broadest smile on his face while I was already looking to the ceiling and calculating the strokes that I was going to receive from the teacher.
I turned and asked JBoy why he was so happy, if he wasn't afraid of the cane. He simply turned and unable to control his excitment he said to me "I beat you with 2 marks". We both busted out laughing as hard as ever. Later on when the intro-tech teacher descended on us we had our fair practice of sprinting laps around the class while holding on to our buttocks but only to come back
for another stroke followed by another lap, When the flogging was over and the tears had dried up the mumu boy started laughing at me again and imitated the way way I ran round the class. I guess he was one of the first people to actually show me to take things in life easy. I learnt how to change the things I can change in life and be ready with how to deal with the things I can.
At times we are the ones that create the illusion and fear of a life where everything is so serious and tensed up. A life where there are no mistakes allowed and every misstep is over judged. When things go wrong we should learn how to put it behind us and move on with life because dwelling on it will never be helpful. The only reason you should look back at those times
would be to reflect and laugh or recall the lessons you learnt from the experience. So grab a bottle of chilled drink and ease off a little my friends, laugh a little more and live your life to the fullest, life isn't that serious...
