SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR.

"I don't think you should spend your life praying for things, but I do believe you should thank God for what He's given you..." - Joel Osteen

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, then you are richer than 75% of this world. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, friend you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the world. If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not. If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch. If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

It was Mary J. Blige who said, "You can't get around pain and opposition, but you can try to be joyful in the trial ... and thank God for the strength to get through it. Really, having gone through so much turmoil and pain as most of us have, the biggest temptation is to find nothing to be grateful for. It's abnormal to live on earth and not be overwhelmed by challenges.

Beloved, I'm aware that you desire to all the great, expensive and classy things in life. Do you take out time to ponder on the free, important and great gifts you've been blessed with? I'm sure you can remember classmates whom till this day can't read or write but you can. Or, friends who've been imprisoned for years now without bail, but you walk freely unhindered. What about those who lie in the hospital beds, their greatest prayer isn't food or luxury but good health, yet you have the ability to eat and are blessed with good health. It might not be much, but it sure is amazing what you have: but for God, do you know you won't survive any trial? Be thankful today.
